MOST VALUABLE BOY

Alike all children, we were raised with high expectations from our parents and family. In this rapidly developing modern society, competition and challenges begins already in childhood.

Carrying these sustenance of high hopes for us, coming from the parent's generation, we switch from teenage athletes to teenage violinists, running back and forth from the classrooms to the sports field and to the music lessons.

The designers embodied the notion of being highly expected through this collection, as themselves being highly expected, as we are all being highly expected to be: The best graduate in class, the athlete who wins the championship, the elegant violinist, the relaxed but powerful business elite. The most valuable boy.

Embarking from the concept of deconstruction, the designers combined sailor collar elements with the hood of the N2B flight jacket and created a galant hooded graduation gown coat and an elegant Sailor collar hoodie. Further in, the designers dissects the inner core of these images by cutting open the left breast of these classic men's garments and cut out the entire left half of the Chester coat/ Detroit jacket/Goat Leather Jacket to reveal the inner layer of the clothings themselves showing lining details. The left chest of the M65 jacket is directly hollowed out, making the styling potential optional to be visually soft or firm while the intend of the layering is beautifully visible.

Expectations and reality often goes by contrary and we may not be able to really be who we imagined to be. We are often confined by our goals and the high expectations placed on us, yet, we persist forward while fueling ourselves with self-doubt and enthusiasm and passion, just as the spiked roses and lily of the valley leaves intertwined and grows into the sterling silver bangle in this collection. The broken and reassembled gold plated and silver filled western belt symbolizes a damaged but tough heart, as well as a shattered and incomplete heroism complex.

Whether due to nature or upbringing, the natural competitive spirit of refusing to admit defeat has been deeply embedded into the blood of boys. As adults, time teaches us to keep these thoughts submerged, but it does not wear away. It rather pushes us to move forward while withstanding the pressure it also brings.

NULLUS brings the perspective back to the moment when this seed of high expectation and competition was first planted. We do not regret nor do we choose to grow up in such an environment, yet, perhaps we do not really need to become what others expects us to be, we do not need to win the game to truly become the most valuable boy.

TIMELESS BOYS PART I

The NULLUS 2025 Spring/Summer collection starts from the shared feelings of the three main creators of the team, continuing to explore the undying boyish charm in men and the passionate spirit that inspires boys to grow.

The innate fiery blood flows through a boy’s body as he grows into a man. The designers have crafted silver buckles for bags and belts, combining symbols of strength (brass knuckles) and power (crowns). They merged brass knuckles with rapiers, embedding them in cracked eyeglass temples using the technique of making amber, thus integrating exquisite classical decorative art with modern aesthetics.

This season’s clothing series continues to focus on the relationship between the shoulders, neck, waist, and human temperament: giving the rugged Michigan jacket three different collar-wrapping methods; turning shirt collars into detachable bandanas; and transforming cardigan hems into knots for fastening. Whether casual or refined, mature or youthful, wearers can achieve different age-appropriate looks based on various ways of wearing, presenting different temperaments.

A man is a reflection of a boy. Regardless of age, every man has an inner boy that never grows up. Six months ago, on a flight to Paris, the NULLUS team happened to watch "Home Alone," a classic film that holds shared memories for a generation. This made them focus not only on the passion and sense of responsibility in men but also on the unchanged innocence and childishness within. The series features playful and nostalgic elements, such as side-windowed baseball caps and embroidery cut into rooftop shapes, evoking memories of innocent childhood. While embracing the desire for maturity, it also cherishes the purity of the heart.

This season also uses textured fabrics with a rustic feel to replace the previously more minimalist choices: slub yarns interwoven with different lengths, and three-dimensional textures woven from yarns of various thicknesses and colors permeate the entire series. Most of the fabrics combine the classic appearance of traditional looms with modern textile technology, striving to balance practical value with timeless elegance.
